Alberta Barley announces results from 2022 farmer governance nominations
November 9, 2022 (Calgary, Alberta) – Alberta Barley is pleased to announce the following results from farmer governance nominations that closed on October 31, 2022.
In Region 3, Dick Wymenga from Leslieville will return as director. Current Alberta Barley chair, Tara Sawyer from Acme, was acclaimed as director-at-large. For Region 4, the position of director was acclaimed by Clint Jacula of Derwent.
A number of delegate opportunities from all six regions are open for farmer involvement. Open delegate opportunities include:
• four positions in Region 1
• four positions in Region 2
• two positions in Region 3
• two positions in Region 4
• three positions in Region 5
• four positions in Region 6.
Every year, all open delegate positions are elected from the floor at Regional Meetings throughout the province
