Ergot Workshop, Wheat Initiative, and Archives of Shop Talk

Hello everyone,

There are three items in today’s Shop Talk:

First, the Canadian Phytopathological Society is hosting a workshop on “The increasing issue of ergot in cereal production and the biological questions being explored”.  The workshop is tomorrow, Wednesday, October 20th, but there are still some open spaces. The agenda and registration can be found here.

Secondly, it you are not involved with the Wheat Initiative, you can sign up for their emails here.Created in 2011 following endorsement from the G20 Agriculture Ministries, the Wheat Initiative provides a framework to establish strategic research and organization priorities for wheat research at the international level in both developed and developing countries. The Wheat Initiative fosters communication between the research community, funders and global policy makers, and aims at securing efficient and long-term investments to meet wheat research and development goals. It also initiates and supports activities in order to enhance communication and increase access to information, resources and technologies.

Third, archived editions of Shop Talk with Sheri can now be found online here.

If you have graduate students, colleagues or other contacts that may benefit from this Shop Talk with Sheri newsletter, please let them know that they can subscribe and read previous editions here. Or pass along my coordinates and I will add them to my mailing list directly.
