Feedback Requested on WGRF's Crop Research Priorities; Wheat Cluster Webinar

Hello everyone,

I hope your summer has gone well and field seasons are wrapping up. There are two items in today’s edition of SHOP TALK:

  • Join the Canadian Wheat Research Coalition (CWRC) tomorrow for an informative webinar for scientists interested in submitting a proposal to the next Canadian National Wheat Cluster (2023-2028). Hosted by CWRC President, Dr. Lauren Comin. The webinar will be held on Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at 9am MST. You can register at: Webinar Registration - Zoom. There will be a Q&A session during the webinar for an opportunity to ask questions. If you have questions in advance of the webinar, email them to lcomin@albertawheatbarley.com to address during the Q&A session. We hope to see you at the webinar!
  • WGRF recently worked with Amaethon Consulting on a report, “Survey on Future Changes in Crop Production on Prairie Farms and Implications for Research”. This was followed up with Virtual Workshops from July 20th – 22nd, 2021. The attached draft document summarizes the discussions of the Virtual Workshops. Please consider providing feedback on the document to patflaten@wgrf.ca by Monday September 27, 2021. The document is also available at https://wgrf.ca/special-initiatives/future-field-crop-research-needs-and-funding/

If you have colleagues, students or other contacts that may benefit from this Shop Talk with Sheri newsletter, please pass along my coordinates and ask them to contact me to be added to my email list. With that I wish you all a safe harvest!

Sincerely,

Sheri Strydhorst, MSc PhD,
