October and the fall season!

Hello everyone,

Welcome to October and the fall season! We have two items for this edition of Shop Talk:

  • First, the Canadian Barley Research Coalition (CBRC) has announced their call for Letters of Intent (LOI) for the 2023-28 Barley Cluster. You can find links to the LOI template and guidelines for the call here: Documents – Canadian Barley Research Coalition. The deadline for LOI submission is November 15, 2021.
  • Secondly, the Canadian Society of Agronomy (CSA) is hosting lunch-time “Green” Bagger sessions providing graduate students the opportunity to gain presentation experience. The purpose is to connect graduate students studying agronomy, provide a positive and supportive platform for young scientists to share their research and help prepare graduate students for live oral presentations at future scientific meetings. If you know of a graduate student who could benefit from participating, please pass this opportunity along to them. Details about the sessions and information on signing up can be found at: https://agronomycanada.com/5189/.

If you have graduate students, colleagues or other contacts that may benefit from this Shop Talk with Sheri newsletter, please pass along my coordinates and ask them to contact me to be added to my email list.

Sincerely,

Sheri Strydhorst, MSc PhD,
Agronomy Research Specialist
