Wheat Cluster LOI call and PBR Webinar Recording

Hello everyone,

In case you have not heard, planning is underway for the 2023-28 Canadian National Wheat Cluster (CNWC), led by the Canadian Wheat Research Coalition. Attached you will find: the official call for LOIs; research priorities; and template for LOI submission. Funders are looking for high quality LOIs which clearly state the objectives, outcomes and benefits to the industry. Please review the article below, for guidance on the value of including a treatment list in your submissions. Letters of intent will be due on September 28th, 2021 by 4:00 pm MST. Requests for full proposals will go out December 3, 2021, with a submission deadline of March 4, 2022.

The Importance of a Treatment List

Some researchers may find their area of expertise not covered in the list of CNWC priorities. Please note that this is only one of AWC’s research funding envelopes and we anticipate other clusters to be announced that would cover agronomic issues which relate to multiple crops. As new funding opportunities are announced, I will be sure to share them with you.

If you were unable to attend our webinar on “Working with PBR protected Varieties in a Research Setting”, you can find a recording posted here: https://youtu.be/54_UYDULFf8

If you have colleagues, students or other contacts that may benefit from this Shop Talk with Sheri newsletter, please pass along my coordinates and ask them to contact me to be added to my email list. With that I wish you all a safe and early harvest!
